ALMANA GROUP LAUNCHES HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM 2019

Almana Group Launches Health Awareness Program 2019

For the second consecutive year, Almana Group conducts a Health Awareness Program on November 14 2019 in Almana Tower to increase awareness about Diabetes, Hypertension and Gout among its employees. This activity comes in parallel to the World Diabetes Day and reflects the core values of Almana Group in supporting its employees and the local community.
The frightening statistics is that nearly one-third of people who have it don’t know about it. Here is some information about these conditions/diseases:
Diabetes mellitus, commonly known as diabetes, is a metabolic disease that causes high blood sugar. Untreated high blood sugar from diabetes can damage your nerves, eyes, kidneys, and other organs.
The general symptoms of diabetes include increased hunger, increased thirst, weight loss, frequent urination and extreme fatigue.

Hypertension is another name for high blood pressure. It can lead to severe health complications and increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and sometimes death. In most cases, there are no clear warning signs of high blood pressure, but blood pressure can become dangerously high and threaten your organs and your life.

Gout attacks can come on quickly and keep returning over time, slowly harming tissues in the region of the inflammation, and can be extremely painful. Hypertension, cardiovascular, and obesity are risk factors for gout.

Mr. Tariq Almana, Group Finance Director commented on this activity saying “We are committed to our employees and local community in providing the awareness needed to sustain a healthy working environment”. “As part of the Almana Group family, we always strive to help our employees to be fit and healthy.” he added.

Mr. Chaouki Younes, Group HR Manager said “Timely diagnosis can help in quick treatment and could prevent irreversibly damaging our employee’s health”. “This is the second time we have done the program in Almana Towers and employee accommodations and we are proud to announce that since last year, we were able to help detect 7 cases and treat diagnosed illnesses. This year, we are continuously monitoring and supporting all employees who were diagnosed in order to timely treat and beat Diabetes, Hypertension and Gout.” he concluded.
